What do I do with big and bulky stuff ?

Should you find materials that need some heavy equipment to remove please drop us a line here, letting us know where it is, pictures are good as well. And we will collect in the next round which will be in the next three months.

Why not now ?

Good question. Turtles.

We are still in the turtle nesting season, due to this we do not want to disturb the nests or potentially damage them in our efforts. Hence we will return when the season is over to conduct this activity.

So if you find a tradgey like in the photo, we will attend to it sooner than later, please place near collection point, in that instance.

talking to some school kids thismorning i was surprised that none of them seemed to know anything about coastal cleanup day... maybe next year a bit more liason with school admins could be helpful... i did try to speak with the head of the high school in question when i realised that the kids really had no idea about this initiative. i even asked if i could put up a notice.. the response was not encouraging... it would be so wonderful if people here could leave behing the insular mentality that has pervaded for so long and start believing that they are part of a greater whole..

Hi Libertyful,

Thanks for your efforts re the ntice at the school etc. Your points about liason etc are well taken, we are very aware of this.
Perhaps you might give me a call (783 7038) and you can give us some feed back to be used in the next time out, which we anticipate will be more than just annualy.

Have a great day at the beach and do get some photos if possible, so we can post your good works.

I am in total agreement that we need to get past this insular mentality. This effort is one such way we can assist us to get past it.

We rely to much on government, individual responsibility for the common good is one of the main themes to this initiate

almost choked seeing this poor turtle. I spent the afternoon on the road and heard quite a few reminders on observer radio, broadcasting saturday's clean up. lets hope the public can give a helping hand and participate.
